Dream Team News

Dream Team is an interactive online competition, in which you select real players in the Australian Football League (AFL), and based on their real, actual performances each round, your team scores points. Your team is then ranked, against your friends and relatives, as well as against everyone else playing in the competition.

So the skill of the game in essence is to pick real life players in the AFL which you think are going to play better & get more possessions than they did last year.

2012

In 2012 each team has a Bye over 3 weeks in Rounds 11, 12 & 13 mid season.

Where does each team have the Bye in 2012

Round 11 byes: Adelaide, Brisbane, GWS, North Melbourne,  West Coast, Western Bulldogs
Round 12 byes: Collingwood, Essendon, Fremantle, Geelong, Melbourne, Sydney
Round 13 byes: Carlton, Gold Coast, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide, Richmond, St Kilda

Let’s not overcomplicate this and write a whole article on how to get around the dreaded Bye. Here is what you should do.

2 easy steps.

  1. When selecting your initial team in pre-season, make sure you only have 2 premiums in each position on the same Bye weekend. I.e. Don’t have Dane Swan, Scott Pendlebury & Jobe Watson. That’s one too many premium players in your midfield who all have the Bye in Week 12.
  2. During the season don’t trade in a premium that would cause the above to happen. I.e. Don’t have Swan & Pendlebury from the beginning and then trade in Jobe Watson before Round 13.

Keep it simple. Stop overcomplicating things.

What about rookies in your team you ask? Don’t worry about them. 6-7 weeks and they should be traded for profit in a perfect world anyway. Deal with that during the season.
