Elite Status Rankings
The Top 100 Players
Friday, 27th January 2012
Using a computerised formula Elite Sports News is able to generate a player points Projector for Dream Team & SuperCoach using a series of objective criteria against numerical historical data. Some of the objective criteria are short & long term form, strength of opponent & home/away short & long term form to name a few. These projections are estimated to be at least 20% more accurate than merely relying on season averages. (This is based on our 2011 projected results & the 2011 season averages in testing)
Elite Sports News has put no subjectivety into the rankings of these players. It is purely based on what the projection software thinks.
Note the Price rise/fall estimations are formulated behind the projected statistics. This is merely a gauge & is not exact. A lot more goes into the pricing changes than a simple formula
*The Projection software does not know about injury, pre-season form or role changes. Its a software program to make sure you never overlook anybody. It has no feelings or bias towards teams or players. Please use it as a research tool to come to your own conclusions, rather than use it as fact.

($7,298.78)
2010 Average:
103.10
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($1,830.50)
Comments: He had a very slow start to last season with injury issues, and slowly picked up his game as the season progressed. He is a genuine explosive king and we have little doubt he has the potential to average 115-120 a game in a season. His durability is his issue. He just has so much trouble staying on the park, you just can't rely on him to play a full season.

Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($855.50)
Comments: Cotchin is a superstar. He certainly made his mark in the AFL last season after injuries controlled his destiny from being taken Pick #2 in the 2007 national draft. His upside is unrivalled in 2012 especially in SuperCoach.

Season Projected Price Fall:
($50,240.57)
2010 Average:

Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($12,600.10)
Comments: This tempo football Hawthorn played seemed to put Shiels on the end of everything across the wing to half back line last season. He fell away late in the season and the projector thinks he is well over valued. For $500K, we can think of some more exciting and reliable options to spend your money on.

Season Projected Price Rise:
$17,791.60
2010 Average:
94.70
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$4,462.05
Comments: Harvey is approaching the end of his impressive career, and has always been quite inconsistent. He needs his teammates to start reaching their potential and pushing the hard tags away from him. He is a work horse though, and we like that he pushes up the ground to try and get more involved in the game when he is quiet.

Season Projected Price Rise:

2010 Average:
86.10
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$5,838.40
Comments: The little master is one of the best players in the competition to watch. What he can do with such little space is astounding. He is so quick and agile, and his awareness is miraculous, like he has eyes in the back of his head. His upside rivals the best in the business, especially when they start discussing a midfield role. You need to limit your expectations unfortunately due to injury. What he could do though with a full season injury free.

2010 Average:
92.40
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($3,110.25)
Comments: This Dinosaur is 30 years of age and we thought he had become extinct before a miraculous awakening last year. He is only available as a midfielder, is prone to injury, and is incredibly inconsistent. We don't recommend this add, as there are too many crosses in his credential boxes.

57 Domenic Cassisi M Port Adelaide Power $439,100 |

Season Projected Price Rise:
$12,430.26
2010 Average:
89.40
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$3,117.45
Comments: The Captain plays for a potential bottom 10 side. It's not expected Port Adelaide will be playing finals in 2012. Cassisi is a work horse and averages a lucrative 8 tackles a game. That's potentially because he is not getting his hands on it first. His durability is also an issue only registering 13 games in 2011.

91.10
Season Projected Price Rise:
$12,141.97
2010 Average:
82.10
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$3,045.15
Comments: There are too many mouths to feed in the prestigious Hawthorn midfield and Sewell has taken a backwards step in recent years, only averaging in the 80s. He misses 3-4 games every season and has a limited upside. We worry there is more risk over return.

59 Brent Moloney M Melbourne Demons $435,300 |

Projected Season Average:
90.90
Season Projected Price Rise:
$14,246.08
2010 Average:
81.40
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$3,572.85
Comments: Moloney is an 80s averaging Midfielder in a young and upcoming team. It's true he has an excellent connection with Jamar in stoppages, but he doesn't mark or kick goals enough to make him hugely relevant. His consistency last year was appalling. At 27 years of age, we don't imagine a jump big enough to warrant selection.

60 Daniel Wells M North Melbourne Kangaroos $462,400 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2011 Games Played: 21
Season Average: 93.3 |
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Projected Season Average:
90.70
Season Projected Price Fall:
($13,754.04)
2010 Average:
82.40
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($3,449.45)
Comments: Wells is a no flying zone. He will not be available until at least Round 3-4 of the season as he will still be on medication for blood thinning until about Round 1 of the season. This will likely lead to him playing several weeks after. There are too many question marks on him heading into 2012, and is not eligible in the Forward line, for you to be tempted like last season.
