The Top 100 Players
Friday, 27th January 2012
Using a computerised formula Elite Sports News is able to generate a player points Projector for Dream Team & SuperCoach using a series of objective criteria against numerical historical data. Some of the objective criteria are short & long term form, strength of opponent & home/away short & long term form to name a few. These projections are estimated to be at least 20% more accurate than merely relying on season averages. (This is based on our 2011 projected results & the 2011 season averages in testing)
Elite Sports News has put no subjectivety into the rankings of these players. It is purely based on what the projection software thinks.
Note the Price rise/fall estimations are formulated behind the projected statistics. This is merely a gauge & is not exact. A lot more goes into the pricing changes than a simple formula
*The Projection software does not know about injury, pre-season form or role changes. Its a software program to make sure you never overlook anybody. It has no feelings or bias towards teams or players. Please use it as a research tool to come to your own conclusions, rather than use it as fact.
61 Daniel Giansiracusa F Western Bulldogs $436,800 |

Projected Season Average:
90.70
Season Projected Price Rise:
$11,764.77
2010 Average:
93.20
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$2,950.55
Comments: We are not especially huge on Giansiracusa. He is always going to be relevant, as you are able to name him in your Forward line, and he has the potential to average in the 90s. It's unlikely he will get many runs this season in the midfield. They have too many other mouths to feed, and would prefer him drifting further forward in search of goals to offset the Barry Hall loss.

Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($6,696.75)
Comments: Mundy is an intriguing add. There is certainly upside here, and he will be playing for a highly improved side. He was having an excellent break out season last year before injury hit him midway. Don't let that 95 average confuse you. He had a Dream Team score of 2 points when hit with injury. He is a potential 100+ average midfielder in 2012.

Season Projected Price Rise:
$15,574.25
2010 Average:

Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$3,905.95
Comments: A defensive unit in his breakout campaign last year. He averaged 8 tackles a game and became an important piece of the Eagles midfield unit. At only 21 years of age, we like that he is a big tackler and if he could just find a little more offence to go hand in hand with it, he could be a reasonable fantasy asset.

Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$20,483.65
Comments: What happened? He fell off the map last year. He forgot how to win his own ball. We spoke all last season about when he would turn it around and he never did. He didn't show positive signs in the finals either. Listen for an uninterrupted pre-season. We would need to see something in pre-season NAB Cup action before we could give him the go ahead. Let's not forget he is only one year on from experts comparing his game to Peter Daicos.

2010 Average:
91.80
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($1,065.00)
Comments: Black fights on, is it only because the Lions still have nobody to replace him? He is a champion of the game but he needs the youngsters to take the reigns off of him. You won't see Black averaging in the 100s this season. He is slowing down, but still very consistent and reliable at 32 years old.

89.70
Season Projected Price Rise:
$93,159.83
2010 Average:
96.40
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$23,364.05
Comments: We have always thought that there was a place for Tuck in the Richmond Tigers starting 22. You need a hard, aged and bigger body in a losing team to help support and develop the youngsters. The coaching staff are of opposite opinion and have continued to leave him out of the side over past seasons. As Tuck gets even older and the young Tigers grow further we see no reason to think anything will change. His spot in the side will be at risk for the whole season.

Projected Season Average:

Season Projected Price Fall:
($20,640.34)
2010 Average:
86.30
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($5,176.50)
Comments: O'Keefe year in year out continues to average in the high 80s, low 90s. At 30 years his body must be starting to get the better of him. He is more productive the further he pushes up the field, but when he is in deep forward territory, he becomes unreliable. His role in 2012 will define how valuable he could be to a fantasy owner. We are on the fence as to which way he may fall.

68 Brett Deledio D Richmond Tigers $452,100 |

Season Projected Price Fall:
($13,347.34)
2010 Average:
89.40
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($3,347.45)
Comments: Deledio is an All Australian Half Back Flank and with Cotchin & Martin getting the midfield attention, he could become even more valuable than ever. He is a reliable stalwart that you can keep in your defence all season. At 24 years he has the upside to do anything, and 2012 may be his season. If its not he will still give you a low 90s average and 22 games. You can't complain with that. A very safe pick with upside included.

69 Travis Boak M Port Adelaide Power $426,300 |

Season Projected Price Rise:
$12,370.84
2010 Average:
94.90
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$3,102.55
Comments: Boak is a tremendously talented player. He just needs some help in the middle to free him up and loosen the hard tag. Chad Wingard could be that player in years to come, but for now until we see Port Adelaide improving beyond the bottom 4 teams, we have to worry if he could get into the 100s average. He certainly possesses the talents to do so.

70 Matt Rosa M West Coast Eagles $426,800 |

2011 Games Played: 18
Season Average: 86.2 |

Projected Season Average:
88.60
Season Projected Price Rise:
$11,379.40
2010 Average:
81.70
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$2,853.90
Comments: Rosa is a wingman with a damaging kick inside 50. He is rarely involved in the stoppages too suggest he could make another quantum leap in 2012 into fantasy contention. You really should leave him on the shelf as a midfielder, although he is an important link player for the West Coast Eagles.
