The Top 100 Players
Friday, 27th January 2012
Using a computerised formula Elite Sports News is able to generate a player points Projector for Dream Team & SuperCoach using a series of objective criteria against numerical historical data. Some of the objective criteria are short & long term form, strength of opponent & home/away short & long term form to name a few. These projections are estimated to be at least 20% more accurate than merely relying on season averages. (This is based on our 2011 projected results & the 2011 season averages in testing)
Elite Sports News has put no subjectivety into the rankings of these players. It is purely based on what the projection software thinks.
Note the Price rise/fall estimations are formulated behind the projected statistics. This is merely a gauge & is not exact. A lot more goes into the pricing changes than a simple formula
*The Projection software does not know about injury, pre-season form or role changes. Its a software program to make sure you never overlook anybody. It has no feelings or bias towards teams or players. Please use it as a research tool to come to your own conclusions, rather than use it as fact.

Comments: Rosa is a wingman with a damaging kick inside 50. He is rarely involved in the stoppages too suggest he could make another quantum leap in 2012 into fantasy contention. You really should leave him on the shelf as a midfielder, although he is an important link player for the West Coast Eagles.

Comments: We think Hocking is a risky proposition. He is constantly under the microscope for suspension and injuries are never too far behind him either. He can score in the 100s with ease, but there are likely safer options than Hocking out there.

83.81
2010 Average:
81.50
Comments: He has been in the 80s average for a few seasons now, and has been shifted to have a Forward tag on him for 2012. An intriguing add at a young age of 23. He is certainly off the radar with a lot of attention going to Dustin Martin, David Zaharakis, Jordan Lewis's way. He certainly has upside and finished 2011 strongly. A potential undervalued premium here.

Comments: Did you read this correctly? A Forward. Dustin Martin is going to be a very popular add in 2012, and so he should. His upside is of epic proportion. Entering his 3rd season with his breakout already been and gone, he is expected to continue to be involved in the midfield and a further improved Richmond Tigers, we wonder how big he can go? A 95-100 average is not out of the question.

Comments: With Scully's move to Greater Western Sydney all eye's are now on Melbourne's prized Number 2 Draft pick, to take it to the next level in 2012. We liked the way he drifted down across the half back line last year. He has fast learnt the art of kick, mark possessions and has a lot of upside heading into 2012, with the expected big improvement of the Melbourne Demons.

Comments: The kamikaze goes so damn hard. Its great to watch. In a top 4 team, he plays on the ball, its a surprise to see that he is eligible in the Forward line. He broke onto the scene in 2011 and will be another intriguing under the radar add this season. He is expensive after a full season averaging in the 90s. He certainly has upside and will be playing in a top flight team. He finished the season last year strongly, and at this early stage we are buying the tickets on him.

2011 Average:
82.36
2010 Average:
78.90
Comments: Ben Howlett has improved each game in his 2 seasons at AFL level. He will play through the midfield again in an improved Essendon team, but will play a backup role to Jobe Watson & Heath Hocking and will be lucky to average in the 90s for the season. As a midfielder his upside is limited unless injury hits others.

Season Projected Price Fall:
($20,476.06)
2011 Average:
91.56
2010 Average:
81.60
Comments: Carrazzo has more left in the tank at only 28 years. Carlton will need a big season uninjured and uninterrupted from him. We think he is a strong premium to consider in a shallow Defence this season. His upside probably stops around the 100 average mark, but it would be exceptional if he met those heights and would more than pay for himself.

Season Projected Price Rise:
$101,568.08
2011 Average:
74.00
2010 Average:
81.90
Comments: He has only played in 47% of games over the past 3 seasons. Durability is not his strong suit. His upside is substantial, but there seems far too many similarities between him and Shaun Higgins. If you're going to role the dice on him, then don't wait. He is not a slow starter. If he is at full health heading into Round 1, as in previous seasons coming in from injury he has had no problems adjusting to AFL level.

Comments: Shuey was sensational in his breakout season last year. He is a very good football player. He has so much potential and we think he will take an even bigger step in 2012. We anticipate a 90s average.
