The Top 100 Players
Friday, 27th January 2012
Using a computerised formula Elite Sports News is able to generate a player points Projector for Dream Team & SuperCoach using a series of objective criteria against numerical historical data. Some of the objective criteria are short & long term form, strength of opponent & home/away short & long term form to name a few. These projections are estimated to be at least 20% more accurate than merely relying on season averages. (This is based on our 2011 projected results & the 2011 season averages in testing)
Elite Sports News has put no subjectivety into the rankings of these players. It is purely based on what the projection software thinks.
Note the Price rise/fall estimations are formulated behind the projected statistics. This is merely a gauge & is not exact. A lot more goes into the pricing changes than a simple formula
*The Projection software does not know about injury, pre-season form or role changes. Its a software program to make sure you never overlook anybody. It has no feelings or bias towards teams or players. Please use it as a research tool to come to your own conclusions, rather than use it as fact.

86.90
Season Projected Price Rise:
$35,295.12
2011 Average:
79.73
2010 Average:
85.80
Comments: Ryder had a terrible first half of the season last year, struggling in particular with his confidence. He wasn't himself and all moves were made to try and bring him into games. They even tried him in defence for a few games as a shutdown defender. His skills for his height make him a dangerous player. His position is as an athletic Ruck who drifts forward and kicks goals. He had a bad year but finished strongly averaging 104 a game in his final 4 matches. We expect a bounce back season.

Comments: Sloane is a livewire. His intensity is overwhelming. He goes so hard at it and has a tremendous ability to win his own ball. At only 21 years of age, last season was his breakout and he will go from strength to strength from here. A big time player in the future for the Adelaide Crows. He has issues with durability given his attack on the ball. His step up in 2012 could take him into a 90s average.

Season Projected Price Rise:
$34,602.72
2011 Average:
79.46
2010 Average:
91.40
Comments: The Western Bulldogs will likely keep Cooney on a moderated program for the rest of his career. Cooney is unlikely to ever reach his best again with continuous knee troubles. At only 25 years of age this is very upsetting to somebody who has the potential to change games and even win future Brownlow medals. He is expected to play with pain in his knee for the remainder of his career.

Comments: Came into the team late in the year and never looked back. Hugely explosive, lanky wingman. He has a big tank and loves to mark and kick goals. The biggest issue is his experience. When he is hot, he is on but he can go very quiet in games as well. As a midfielder we do not recommend this as a good option.

86.70
Season Projected Price Rise:
$28,726.81
2011 Average:
80.86
2010 Average:
0.00
Comments: Mzungu is no longer a forward, which leaves him as an uninspiring add in 2012. If anything he should be a defender, as his role seems to be playing on that half back line as a hard running loose distributor to the midfielders. An 80s average seems realistic. But there are many fantasy relevant players in the Fremantle camp. Its unlikely as a midfielder you could expect an average which would make him relevant.

Season Projected Price Rise:
$11,586.74
2011 Average:
83.95
2010 Average:
94.40
Comments: It is irrelevant if the Saints make finals or not. Riewoldt will continue to give 110% as the likely Captain for 2012. Scott Watters coming in as the new coach has a high emphasis on speeding up the St Kilda game plan. We think this will work in Riewoldts favour. We think it will work in favour of many St Kilda players who had slow years in 2011. But Riewoldt still needs help up forward to free him up from the double team. Perhaps this is Koschitzke's year. We feel confident in a bounce back season coming his way.

86.60
Season Projected Price Rise:
$43,285.89
2011 Average:
77.81
2010 Average:
66.60
Comments: Ziebell is a classy onballer and really opened up his game late in 2012 averaging 108 a game in his final 6 games, not including an injury in Round 22. We think he has the skill set to take his game to the next level. North Melbourne have high hopes for this youngster. He resembles a similar skill set of Jobe Watson, where he is not overly quick, but makes very good decisions that can open up games. Do we think he can average 100 a game in 2012? Yes. Its feasible.

Season Projected Price Fall:
($7,447.31)
2011 Average:
87.70
2010 Average:
81.80
Comments: Over 3 seasons his average has slowly grown through the 80s to become quite a reliable and consistent scorer. At 26 years of age, if he is going to become an elite fantasy player its now or never. We can't see him entering the 100s territory, but we do think he is capable of holding a 90s average for a team on the finals fringe.

89 Josh P. Kennedy M Sydney Swans $428,100 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2011 Games Played: 22
Season Average: 86.5 |

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Projected Season Average:
86.40
Season Projected Price Fall:
($763.17)
2011 Average:
86.55
2010 Average:
73.70
Comments: Kennedy continues to improve his game each season and at only 23 has some serious upside entering the prime of his career. We can't see it being unrealistic that he would average in the 90s, but we wonder where his ceiling is at. Sydney have many midfielders of the same calibre. They all play roles and are just below what is needed for a fully fledged fantasy asset.

90 Grant Birchall D Hawthorn Hawks $443,500 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Season Average: 89.8 |

Projected Season Average:
86.40
Season Projected Price Fall:
($16,114.34)
2011 Average:
89.76
2010 Average:
77.40
Comments: Birchall truly came on in 2011 at a young age of only 23, he is entering the prime of his career as a similar type player to that of Corey Enright. We have big wraps on this kid, and think he is a terrific buy in a shallow defence list this year. He plays in a likely Top 4 side and we still think he has more potential to give, especially when some of the Hawks shutdown defenders come back from injury and free him up further.
