Elite Status Rankings
The Top 100 Players
Friday, 27th January 2012
Using a computerised formula Elite Sports News is able to generate a player points Projector for Dream Team & SuperCoach using a series of objective criteria against numerical historical data. Some of the objective criteria are short & long term form, strength of opponent & home/away short & long term form to name a few. These projections are estimated to be at least 20% more accurate than merely relying on season averages. (This is based on our 2011 projected results & the 2011 season averages in testing)
Elite Sports News has put no subjectivety into the rankings of these players. It is purely based on what the projection software thinks.
Note the Price rise/fall estimations are formulated behind the projected statistics. This is merely a gauge & is not exact. A lot more goes into the pricing changes than a simple formula
*The Projection software does not know about injury, pre-season form or role changes. Its a software program to make sure you never overlook anybody. It has no feelings or bias towards teams or players. Please use it as a research tool to come to your own conclusions, rather than use it as fact.

Season Projected Price Fall:
($21,011.36)
2010 Average:
84.70
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($5,269.55)
Comments: Stepped up to his circa 2008 season last year. He was an absolute monster with many relying on him as Captain. We think that 2011 was as good as it gets though. Lower your expectations to ensure you're not disappointed. The projector has him falling away this season. Historically Geelong should have fallen away last year as well, and then they won the flag again! Cox is still a top flight Ruck option, but be happy if it's 100+.

Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$7,143.90
Comments: Leuenberger broke onto the AFL scene in 2011 as a premium Ruck option. We like him a lot. He is 23 years old with huge upside, finishing 2011 with incredibly consistent premium scores. We like him to be pushing Cox for the top spot in fantasy ruck land. Brisbane can only improve and winning sides correlate well for players playing in them. Watch this space.

96.00
Season Projected Price Rise:
$4,900.41
2010 Average:
97.90
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$1,229.00
Comments: Yao Ming continued to get injured during his NBA basketball career measuring in at 7ft6. Sandilands is not far off this height. Ming continued to have lower leg injuries, knee issues, ankle issues etc, until his eventual early recent retirement. It was just too much weight and strain put on the body. It couldn't' take it. Sandilands was out for 6-8 weeks and was eventually shutdown last season due to turf toe. We worry that he may have trouble staying on the park, however, he is hugely explosive in fantasy land.

95.10
Season Projected Price Rise:
$17,907.63
2010 Average:
79.90
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$4,491.15
Comments: Injury and Suspension are all part of Mumford's game unfortunately. On a positive note, explosiveness is on his side. Some of his scores to close out the season were of epic proportion. He is only 25 years old. You need Mumford to stop his disparity between unbelievable and ordinary. 140 followed the week after by a 60 is plain uninspiring. His upside heading into 2012 is high. His value is higher in SuperCoach.

Season Projected Price Fall:
($28,070.50)
2010 Average:
74.90
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($7,039.95)
Comments: Goldstein is one of the best tap Ruckmen in the league. Why has North Melbourne not traded Hamish McIntosh? We can't understand what they are going to do with him. The days of a resting Ruck on the bench are over, and McIntosh isn't a goal kicking forward. We still think Goldstein has incredible upside and will certainly be the Number 1 Ruck at North Melbourne. A 100-105 average is not out of the question.

6 Patrick Ryder R Essendon Bombers $394,400 |

Projected Season Average:
86.90
Season Projected Price Rise:
$35,295.12
2010 Average:
85.80
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$8,851.85
Comments: Ryder had a terrible first half of the season last year, struggling in particular with his confidence. He wasn't himself and all moves were made to try and bring him into games. They even tried him in defence for a few games as a shutdown defender. His skills for his height make him a dangerous player. His position is as an athletic Ruck who drifts forward and kicks goals. He had a bad year but finished strongly averaging 104 a game in his final 4 matches. We expect a bounce back season.

85.90
Season Projected Price Fall:
($9,308.99)
2010 Average:
69.70
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($2,334.65)
Comments: We hear a lot of chat about the new upside Ruck on the market for 2012, but can he average 100+ a game? He is certainly capable of going over 100 a game doing it 6-8 times in both formats of the game in 2011. His consistency is a concern with to many 60s to go with his big 100s. We certainly think he has upside at a young age of 23 years, but it may be more realistic to go with the heavyweight reliable options of Cox, Leuenberger & Sandilands. Save a spot for Jacobs. If he looks the real deal early, then bring him in to team up with one of the others.

8 Ben McEvoy R St Kilda Saints $447,500 |

Season Projected Price Fall:
($32,427.44)
2010 Average:
58.70
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($8,132.65)
Comments: McEvoy was a big time breakout candidate last season. He is not only a terrific Ruck option, but he can drift forward and take big contested marks. He didn't finish the season strongly but he had a serious purple patch mid season where he went above 100+ in 5 games straight. He certainly has the potential to become an Elite Ruck option in 2012. With a faster moving St Kilda team, we think an average in the 90s for McEvoy is reasonably realistic.

9 David Hille R Essendon Bombers $409,700 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

83.70
Season Projected Price Rise:
$4,266.63
2010 Average:
83.40
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$1,070.05
Comments: Hille is really the odd man out in Essendon's ruck division. Bellchambers is the 22 year old man that Essendon want to develop further with Ryder resting forward and supporting him. Hille at 30, doesn't really have a place in this team unless injury hits. Look elsewhere.

10 Darren Jolly R Collingwood Magpies $369,800 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

81.00
Season Projected Price Rise:
$30,728.24
2010 Average:
79.70
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$7,706.50
Comments: Jolly is expected to line up as the Number 1 Ruck option for Collingwood again in 2012. His upside is low at his age and they will moderate his game time, to make sure his is fit and healthy come September. A risky option.
