The Top 100 Players
Friday, 27th January 2012
Using a computerised formula Elite Sports News is able to generate a player points Projector for Dream Team & SuperCoach using a series of objective criteria against numerical historical data. Some of the objective criteria are short & long term form, strength of opponent & home/away short & long term form to name a few. These projections are estimated to be at least 20% more accurate than merely relying on season averages. (This is based on our 2011 projected results & the 2011 season averages in testing)
Elite Sports News has put no subjectivety into the rankings of these players. It is purely based on what the projection software thinks.
Note the Price rise/fall estimations are formulated behind the projected statistics. This is merely a gauge & is not exact. A lot more goes into the pricing changes than a simple formula
*The Projection software does not know about injury, pre-season form or role changes. Its a software program to make sure you never overlook anybody. It has no feelings or bias towards teams or players. Please use it as a research tool to come to your own conclusions, rather than use it as fact.
81 Sam Fisher D St Kilda Saints $537,900 |

($38,595.22)
2010 Average :
91.20
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($9,679.50)
Comments: Fisher was a rock for St Kilda all season even when they were hurting early on. At 29, his upside is now limited. You know what your in for when you sign up for him. 21 games and an average around the mid 90s. Don't be expecting more in 2012. The projector thinks he is quite overvalued.

Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($2,234.50)
Comments: We hear a lot of chat about the new upside Ruck on the market for 2012, but can he average 100+ a game? He is certainly capable of going over 100 a game doing it 8 times in 2011. His consistency is a concern with to many below 70s to go with his big 100s. We certainly think he has upside at a young age of 23 years, but it may be more realistic to go with the heavyweight reliable options of Cox, Leuenberger & Sandilands. Save a spot for Jacobs. If he looks the real deal early, then bring him in to team up with one of the others.

83 Andrew Carrazzo D Carlton Blues $505,800 |

Season Projected Price Fall:
($12,540.11)
2010 Average :
78.40
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($3,145.00)
Comments: Carrazzo has more left in the tank at only 28 years. Carlton will need a big season uninjured and uninterrupted from him. We think he is a strong premium to consider in a shallow Defence this season. His upside probably stops around the 100 average mark, but it would be exceptional if he met those heights and would more than pay for himself.

Season Projected Price Rise:
$7,753.33
2010 Average :

Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$1,944.50
Comments: Gibson will have his supporting role of big defenders back in 2011 after they missed 2011 with injuries. We are not sure if this will help or hamper Gibson's potential for the season. At 27, lets expect a similar return as last year. But he is a question mark player.

85 Adam Cooney M Western Bulldogs $439,500 |

90.90
Season Projected Price Rise:
$53,009.36
2010 Average :
99.10
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$13,294.50
Comments: The Western Bulldogs will likely keep Cooney on a moderated program for the rest of his career. Cooney is unlikely to ever reach his best again with continuous knee troubles. At only 25 years of age this is very upsetting to somebody who has the potential to change games and even win future Brownlow medals. He is expected to play with pain in his knee for the remainder of his career.

86 Heath Hocking M Essendon Bombers $487,200 |

90.80
Season Projected Price Rise:
$4,920.35
2010 Average :
80.40
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$1,234.00
Comments: We think Hocking is a risky proposition. He is constantly under the microscope for suspension and injuries are never too far behind him either. He can score in the 100s with ease, but there are likely safer options than Hocking out there.

87 Bachar Houli D Richmond Tigers $483,700 |

Projected Season Average:
90.80
Season Projected Price Rise:
$8,409.25
2010 Average :
83.40
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$2,109.00
Comments: He took a big step last season when given the opportunity by Richmond playing all 22 games. He is 23, and we think he has value in him. He is going at it in preseason and won the New Year 3.8km time trial. Houli has serious ambitions heading into 2012. A player to watch in the expectation that Richmond will improve further in 2012. At this stage we are buying the tickets on him.

88 Rory Sloane M Adelaide Crows $478,900 |

Projected Season Average:
90.60
Season Projected Price Rise:
$12,113.46
2010 Average :
75.20
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$3,038.00
Comments: Sloane is a livewire. His intensity is overwhelming. He goes so hard at it and has a tremendous ability to win his own ball. At only 21 years of age, last season was his breakout and he will go from strength to strength from here. A big time player in the future for the Adelaide Crows. He has issues with durability given his attack on the ball. His step up in 2012 could take him into a 90s average.

Season Projected Price Fall:
($29,837.08)
2010 Average :
86.70
Round 3 Projected Price Fall:
($7,483.00)
Comments: This Dinosaur is 30 years of age and we thought he had become extinct before a miraculous awakening last year. He is only available as a midfielder, is prone to injury, and is incredibly inconsistent. We don't recommend this add, as there are too many crosses in his credential boxes.

90 Daniel Giansiracusa F Western Bulldogs $478,700 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2011 Games Played: 20
Season Average: 88.2 |
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Projected Season Average:
90.40
Season Projected Price Rise:
$11,232.27
2010 Average :
92.80
Round 3 Projected Price Rise:
$2,817.00
Comments: We are not especially huge on Giansiracusa. He is always going to be relevant, as you are able to name him in your Forward line, and he has the potential to average in the 90s. It's unlikely he will get many runs this season in the midfield. They have too many other mouths to feed, and would prefer him drifting deeper forward in search of goals to offset the Barry Hall loss.
