Elite Status Rankings
The Top 100 Players
Friday, 27th January 2012
Using a computerised formula Elite Sports News is able to generate a player points Projector for Dream Team & SuperCoach using a series of objective criteria against numerical historical data. Some of the objective criteria are short & long term form, strength of opponent & home/away short & long term form to name a few. These projections are estimated to be at least 20% more accurate than merely relying on season averages. (This is based on our 2011 projected results & the 2011 season averages in testing)
Elite Sports News has put no subjectivety into the rankings of these players. It is purely based on what the projection software thinks.
Note the Price rise/fall estimations are formulated behind the projected statistics. This is merely a gauge & is not exact. A lot more goes into the pricing changes than a simple formula
*The Projection software does not know about injury, pre-season form or role changes. Its a software program to make sure you never overlook anybody. It has no feelings or bias towards teams or players. Please use it as a research tool to come to your own conclusions, rather than use it as fact.

2011 Average:
96.33
2010 Average:
92.60
Comments: Behind the scenes of the Swan & Pendlebury show, Ball quietly accumulates consistent scores. He had an incredible finals campaign, and actually put Collingwood in the Grand Final, kicking the winning snap against Hawthorn in the prelim. But his upside is limited now. He has been a 90s average for years and isn't even a picture of health missing a few games each season as well.

Comments: The number 1 contested mark in the game last year! Actually, they are putting him in the same sentence as the best of all time. He is a genuine talent up forward for Collingwood. If only he could kick straight, he would be averaging over 100 as a Forward. You would expect another strong season coming up for Cloke after becoming fantasy relevant last year. He is only 24 years of age. He could take an even greater step this year after a sensational Grand Final.

2010 Average:

Comments: Hawthorn plays possession football matched with Lewis's excellent foot skills and decision making leave a perfect fit. Lewis now with a Forward tag has been noted as an Elite Sports News value add. We think he is a sensational footballer. His final 7 weeks of football including finals was exceptional. We think heading into 2012 he has the potential to return you a 95-100 average, which the projector shows him being $30K undervalued.

44 Shane Mumford R Sydney Swans $452,400 |

95.10
Season Projected Price Rise:
$17,907.63
2011 Average:
91.47
2010 Average:
79.90
Comments: Injury and Suspension are all part of Mumford's game unfortunately. On a positive note, explosiveness is on his side. Some of his scores to close out the season were of epic proportion. He is only 25 years old. You need Mumford to stop his disparity between unbelievable and ordinary. 140 followed the week after by a 60 is plain uninspiring. His upside heading into 2012 is high. His value is higher in SuperCoach.

45 Colin Sylvia F Melbourne Demons $448,600 |

95.10
Season Projected Price Rise:
$21,695.58
2011 Average:
90.74
2010 Average:
96.20
Comments: Sylvia misses games every year and was belted by critics in 2011 in question of when he is going to stand up as a Number 3 Draft Pick in the National Draft. He is now 26 years and it's time he reaches whatever potential he may have. His upside as a forward is solid considering he has runs through the midfield, kicks goals and gets plenty of tackles. His average fell away last year with Melbourne struggling all year. We think he might have a nice bounce back season in 2012.

46 Michael Rischitelli M Gold Coast Suns $473,200 |

94.60
Season Projected Price Fall:
($5,291.57)
2011 Average:
95.38
2010 Average:
96.30
Comments: Rischitelli seems to quietly accumulate points in the background with the hard tag going to Ablett. The trouble is, as the young stars of this team grow and have bigger mouths to feed, Rischitelli's role will have to be downgraded. We saw him fall away in the second half of last season. We still think he is an incredibly reliable and consistent player, but we worry that his upside is no more than a 90s average.

47 Todd Goldstein R North Melbourne Kangaroos $491,600 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

93.70
Season Projected Price Fall:
($28,070.50)
2011 Average:
99.38
2010 Average:
74.90
Comments: Goldstein is one of the best tap Ruckmen in the league. Why has North Melbourne not traded Hamish McIntosh? We can't understand what they are going to do with him. The days of a resting Ruck on the bench are over, and McIntosh isn't a goal kicking forward. We still think Goldstein has incredible upside and will certainly be the Number 1 Ruck at North Melbourne. A 100-105 average is not out of the question.

49 David Zaharakis F Essendon Bombers $443,200 |

Season Projected Price Rise:
$19,682.98
2011 Average:
89.73
2010 Average:
71.20
Comments: Zaharakis won the Best & Fairest for Essendon in 2011 and got better and better as the season progressed. He has certainly responded well to the new Hird regime, and may even have involvement in the midfield in 2012. We like his upside and certainly think he is a potential premium to take from Round 1 in your Forwards.

48 Nathan Fyfe F Fremantle Dockers $486,600 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2011 Games Played: 21
Season Average: 98.4 |

Projected Season Average:
93.60
Season Projected Price Fall:
($23,579.39)
2011 Average:
98.38
2010 Average:
68.10
Comments: Fyfe broke out onto the AFL scene in 2011. He was sensational and a very popular upgrade pick in the forward line. He has an incredibly strong contested mark for his size, kicks goals and drifts further up the ground when he has too, chasing possessions. Fremantle will be even bigger in 2012 and at the young age of 20, Fyfe will go from strength to strength with his talents. We have a slight concern for his durability.

50 Corey Enright D Geelong Cats $454,600 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Season Average: 91.9 |
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Projected Season Average:
93.50
Season Projected Price Rise:
$7,826.10
2011 Average:
91.90
2010 Average:
91.80
Comments: At 30 years of age you wonder how much longer he can keep his scoring at such an elite and reliable level. He plays free across an incredibly reliable Geelong back 6. Milburn did it until he was 33 years old. Enright reads the play so well and has even bumped up his marking with his possessions dropping off slightly. We can't see any reason why Enright won't have another season averaging in the low 90s. Geelong seems to defy the odds and continue to play finals.
