Any Melbourne Demon Player priced around $200K or below is in this list and is Ranked based on Cash-Cow potential.

Over the coming few weeks of pre-season we are going to do an analysis on players with value from each club. Rather than just show the Top 40 list in the AFL, we are going to go deeper than that and discuss all the Cash Cow options from each team. We will discuss the players who are unlikely to get a game. The players who may get a game but are more likely to give you peanuts anyway. Our job is to give you the information. Then you can make your own informed decision.

Comments: Magner continues to push for Rookie elevation. Another week, another strong performance from the 24 year old mature aged recruit. It is becoming an openly discussed decision even by Melbourne players, that Magner deserves to be elevated and given a shot in the big time. Nathan Jones was impressed with his attack on the ball and believes he is 'inspiring'.

Last year at VFL level Magner, a mature aged recruit averaged 30 possessions a game, playing through the midfield as a tough, line breaking ball magnet.

Cash Cow Potential: Looking like a must have, as long as he is upgraded.

Comments: Couch is looking to be a very popular upgrade candidate off of the Rookie List. On the weekend in the 2nd Round of the NAB Cup, he finished with 15 possessions, 2 marks and 7 tackles for 72 Dream Team points. He plays through the midfield as a tough inside ball winner.

Cash Cow Potential: Very intriguing and dirt cheap.

Comments: A versatile defender. He can play on all different sizes. He is a strong rebounder and is good in one on one contests.

At TAC Cup level last year, he played in 11 games averaging 19 possessions, 5 marks and 2 tackles amassing him 75 Dream Team points a game.

In the NAB Under 18 AFL Championships he averaged 16 possessions, 5 marks and 3 tackles leaving him with 66 Dream Team points a game over the 5 game carnival.

As a defender playing in a recent intra-club practice match, coaches were very impressed with him. He was spoiling, composed and strong in packs. They are not fantasy traits you want to hear though. We will have to wait to see how he goes in some NAB Cup action.

Cash Cow Potential: He hasn't showed that he is a big fantasy scorer in pre-season, but is pushing for a game.

Comments: Fitzpatrick is a key position player who missed a lot of last year with an ankle injury. He made a return for the final game of the season, but was not huge in fantasy land. Fitzpatrick is tall, fast and athletic and has a lot of potential for the future.

Cash Cow Potential: Still developing. May get some game time, but you can't rely on him.

Comments: McDonald was drafted by Melbourne in 2010 as a key position forward, but spent his season last year at Centre Half Back in the VFL. He held his spot all season and finally got a taste of AFL in the last 2 games of the regular season.

McDonald will be fighting for a spot in the Best 22. Colin Garland is a thorn in his side, and the addition of James Sellar, also is not doing him in any favours.

Cash Cow Potential: Expensive and unreliable, fighting for a spot in the Best 22.

Comments: Bennell can play in many positions, but seems suited across half back with his run and carry. He is a great athlete, so is very capable of pushing forward as a small forward and kicking goals. His biggest issue is his confidence. He needs to take the game on more and back his strong skills.

Cash Cow Potential: Too expensive and unreliable.

Comments: Taken in the Rookie Draft, Sheahan had a strong season last year at TAC Cup level. He kicks straight and makes good decisions.

At TAC Cup level last year, he played in 16 games averaging 13 possessions, 6 marks, 3 Hitouts, 1 tackle and 2 goals amassing him 76 Dream Team points a game.

Cash Cow Potential: Still Rookie Listed and unlikely to feature early.

Comments: Davis is a very flexible defender who can stand all shapes and sizes. He is on the fringe of breaking into the side. He had an injury riddled start to last season, but finished strongly in the VFL.

Cash Cow Potential: Unsure when he will be sighted.

Comments: Lawrence is a small forward, who has very strong pressure acts. He loves to sneak a goal, and is working hard to make his debut.

Cash Cow Potential: Not currently in talk of being elevated off the Rookie List.

Comments: Cook is a key position forward, drafted in the first round of the 2010 National Draft. He plays across the half forward line as a lead up player. Cook had hip surgery over the pre-season and will be given time early, to develop and improve.

Cash Cow Potential: Unlikely to see him early. Great potential, but is a key position forward.
