Our Pre-Season analysis continues looking at Cash Cows in more detail.
Next with the North Melbourne Kangaroos
Any North Melbourne Kangaroo Player priced around $200K or below is in this list and is Ranked based on Cash-Cow potential.
Over the coming few weeks of pre-season we are going to do an analysis on players with value from each club. Rather than just show the Top 40 list in the AFL, we are going to go deeper than that and discuss all the Cash Cow options from each team. We will discuss the players who are unlikely to get a game. The players who may get a game but are more likely to give you peanuts anyway. Our job is to give you the information. Then you can make your own informed decision.
Why do a full analysis on Cash Cows? Let’s face it, they dictate if you win or lose in fantasy land! Anybody can tell you which premiums you should take.
*Please Note the '2012 Mid Season Price Rise' is for Round 10 and is formulated behind the projected statistics. This is merely a gauge & is not exact. A lot more goes into the pricing changes than a simple formula

Comments: Gibson is a 25 year old mature aged recruit who has been setting a blistering pace in pre-season so far. He collected 30 possessions in North Melbourne's intra-club practice match earlier this year. Gibson captained Box Hill last year and averaged 28 possessions a game in the VFL. He knows how to find the ball!
Gibson is looking a very intriguing add. In the NAB Cup opener, he was excellent. He is looking like he will have a Round 1 debut at this rate. He collected a team high 9 possessions in the first half match against Richmond. Cash Cow Potential: Very intriguing |

Comments: Delaney is a tall rebounding defender, who has great speed for his size. He certainly has potential after a strong season last year at VFL level. He would be in line for some games this year.
In the 2nd Round of the NAB Cup, he came on in the 3rd quarter and finished with 9 possessions and 2 marks for 24 Dream Team points. Cash Cow Potential: Keep him on your radar. At his age and position, he is dangerous though. Expect around the 50s. |

Comments: McKenzie will look to make a half back flank his own in coming years. He is also likely to have ambitions to play midfield, but currently doesn’t have the tank testing poorly at the Draft Combine with endurance. He does however, have an excellent pin point left foot kick which could be extremely effective releasing North Melbourne midfielders. McKenzie reads the play well and loves winning the hard ball.
In the NAB Under 18 AFL Championships he averaged 16 possessions, 4 marks and 3 tackles leaving him with 67 Dream Team points a game over the 5 game carnival. Pre-season wraps have been high. In particularly, his deadly left foot kick on the training track. Cash Cow Potential: Yet to debut in NAB Cup. Still unlikely for Round 1, but monitor. Huge upside. Could be an excellent SuperCoach player. |

Comments: Black is on the edge a Round 1 call up. Recently in a VFL practice match, he was sensational, kicking 6 goals in terrible conditions. He has had issues in the past with injury and fitness, but looks like he is currently on top of both.
Cash Cow Potential: He is worthy of consideration, however, it seems he relies heavily on goals for points and is not priced well. Dangerous. But form is good. |

Comments: Sierakowski was picked up in trade week from Hawthorn, with North Melbourne giving up Pick #58 in the National Draft. Sierakowski has a terrific kick on him and plays as a rebounding half back flanker. He is getting close to playing senior football and the Kangaroos recruiting staff are clearly keen on him.
You must worry why Hawthorn were ok releasing him for very little. Recently Sierakowski has been dealing with a hamstring complaint, slowing down his training load, and as a result missed out on the first week of the NAB Cup. He played in a practice match with VFL affiliate Werribee. He has high ambitions entering his 3rd season on the Rookie List, to make an impression early in the season. Cash Cow Potential: Needs to stay on the radar with the club clearly keen on him, but still currently Rookie Listed. |

Comments: Warren has been pushing to hold a spot in the Best 22 for a few years now, with injury and form issues continually holding him back. Warren plays across half forward as a medium goal kicking, hit up target. He has great endurance and has been a strong player at VFL level.
He only played 3 games last year with injury once again, holding him back. Cash Cow Potential: He has the potential to hold a spot, but needs to become more reliable. Quite expensive. |

2012 Mid Season Price Rise:

Height:

Comments: For Urquhart, it's now or never. Urquhart has been delisted and placed on the Rookie list. It's time to break out or go home. If he doesn't perform this year, he is well aware that his AFL career will come to a close. It seems he has taken it on board and has a positive frame of mind and is working hard in pre-season to make an impact.
Urquhart plays across the half back line. He has great sped and rebounding ability, but has never cemented a spot in the Best 22. Cash Cow Potential: Having a strong pre-season, but is still Rookie Listed. Expensive. Has the upside to average in the 70s with a permanent role. |

Comments: Richardson plays across the half back flank. He was picked up at the end of 2010 in a trade with the Gold Coast Suns. He is a classic mature aged recruit entering 2012 as a 25 year old. Richardson had hip surgery at the end of last year, but is training in full now and keen to make an impression after playing 9 AFL games last year. He can run all day and breaks lines across the half back. He certainly is in the running to win a spot in the Best 22, with injury holding him back last year.
Cash Cow Potential: It is now or never for the 25 year old. Very expensive and still hasn't won a spot in the Best 22. |

Comments:
Daw suffered from knee swelling in 2011, and decided to go in for arthroscopic surgery for a clean up before the season started. This already made it unlikely he would be seen in Round 1. Then it got a lot worse for young Daw, being suspended from the club indefinitely for several indiscretions. He is an incredible athlete and was anticipated to debut this year before his pre-season issues. He plays in the Ruck, but also has the skill set to push Forward and kick goals. He is fast and great below his knees for his size. We have heard whispers that he is working hard to earn the respect back that he lost and will likely soon be training again with the main group. Cash Cow Potential: Look for him to debut later in the season. |

2012 Mid Season Price Rise:

Comments: Mangan is a medium sized defender who can also push forward. He is a mature aged recruit at 20, and had a strong season last year with Werribee in the VFL. His flexibility and coming off a full season at VFL level, leaves him with a solid foundation to play immediately. He is still Rookie Listed and have heard no word if he is in contention.
Cash Cow Potential: Keep on radar, but still Rookie Listed. Unlikely to feature early. |
