This is based on Ultimate Footy (Points Based) – Dream Team Scoring.

*Note – We discuss Ultimate Footy based on a Standard 10 Team League. (I.e. if a player is ranked 123, then he is a 12th Round Draft pick.)

The Projected Season Average is based on the Software Program. (We actually believe on many occasions, players will outperform this) It is purely objective. The Projection software does not know about injury, pre-season form or role changes. Its a software program to make sure you never overlook anybody. It has no feelings or bias towards teams or players. Please use it as a research tool to come to your own conclusions, rather than use it as fact.

Why are free agent pickups important?

Free Agents are basically Cash Cows for Ultimate Footy. By getting some strong Free Agent picks during the season, it sets you up for the finals and trade bait.

Will all of these Free Agent picks below turn into terrific value picks? No. Of course not. We are just trying to give you some ideas of players who may fit the build of being overlooked. This may help you come up with some good picks yourself.

Comments: Atley is a jet and well worth a pickup with the added Defender tag on him now. He has breakout written all over him in 2012. Put him on your bench and see how he is going in a few months. A youngster with a load of talent.

Comments: Round 14-18 Return date at this stage. If you are cruising on top of the ladder, we say carry him. Holding injured stars on your bench are worth every penny in hindsight after they dominate in the Finals for you.

Comments: Pearce is pumping out a 100+ average excluding his opening Round. He deserves universal ownership at this stage. In Dream Team & SuperCoach, he has been named as a Forward. Unlikely he will have a Forward position add at this stage, but something to keep in mind.

Comments: Wallis was named as the sub in Round 6, which limited his output. Call it a hunch, but we feel as Western Bulldogs fall out of finals contention and continue to develop the youngsters, we think Wallis is going to come up big later down the track. ESN prediction, Rounds 15-22, Wallis averaging 95+ a game. Worth a thought. He looks like a fantasy player for future years.

Comments: Chaplin is unfortunately hot and cold from week to week depending on matchups and needing to play a shutdown role. But he does love to get free across the backline and rack up mark/kicks. Can score big when freed up.
